The event took place in New York, marking another milestone: the30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. March, the month associated with International Women’s Day, is coming to an end, and we have heard little or nothing about the big annual meeting at the United Nations. Specifically, on March 26, 2025, in New York, as every year, the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) concluded in New York – it was unanimously decided to adopt the new Beijing+30 Political Declaration, in which member states renewed their commitment to the full, effective and accelerated implementation of the Beijing goals. States committed to strengthening access to equitable credit-financing and business opportunities for men and women, improving access to justice for women who experience violence, and promoting policies that recognize and reduce the burden of care that is assumed, unpaid, primarily by women. At the same time, the importance of gender budgeting and the equitable distribution of public resources was emphasized. The World Summit on Women (CSW69), which unfortunately did not appear in the news, remains an open opportunity for a relaunch, a reset with the goal of closing the global gender gap for good by 2030, with an annual investment of $360 billion.
